For the adventurous diver, there is really something to look forward to while on the journey to South Africa: At Dyer Island you can go on a special 'cage-dive' and get close to the great white sharks that live in the waters here. Otherwise, Sodwana Bay, about four hours from Durban, is an absolute mecca for divers. This bay is part of a marine sanctuary, the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park, which is protected and also listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Here you can see lots of colourful fish, turtles, whale sharks and dolphins, all depending on the season.
