If you want to learn how to dive, taking the first step in the warm waters around Koh Phi Phi Island is a pretty solid choice! First of all, the island is amazingly pretty with white coconut beaches. Stunning cliffs overgrown with lush jungle and a very blue calm ocean contrasts the cool and atmospheric village of Phi Phi. With all its diversity in little handy craft shops, fantastic Thai restaurants and crazy rooftop bars It is such a special island. But, the easiness of the local diving, is the absolute main plus! During the first part of your course, you will be doing theory on land in the dive center just steps from the ocean, then you'll progress in to the shallow and calm water just off the beach. Dead easy. As the days go by, you will start diving off a boat around the island, where the corals and marine life is showing from its best sides. So, to sum it up... You will have a very relaxed course, in settings that are perfect for what you are doing.
There are many reasons why travelers flog the beaches of Koh Phi Phi. For sure, the island itself is one point. It is tropically lush and has an atmosphere that has its visitors extending their stay again and again. (So be sure to book enough extra nights, or you might have to sleep on the beach!). It is forever LOVED for its white beaches, clustered hippie village atmosphere and the famous parties.
You gotta be out a bit early! Koh Phi Phi is, for good reasons, one of the most popular islands in Thailand. The rooms get completely booked out in peak season, and you will understand why when you get there. The island has everything from the crazy fairy-looking wooden bar on the beach with stunning sunsets to some of the best Thai cuisine we have ever tasted. It is hard to describe the narrow little merchant streets that the Phi Phi village is made of, they have to be experienced. And so does the parties. They are hard to find alike! Just remember to wait until you finish your course… cause you will most likely be up all night.
