Our Spanish school in Puerto Escondido was previously a hotel, held in a very typical colonial style, and like many say, it's a little oasis in the middle of other hotels that are located next to it. We have maintained the building and only with small changes, we use part of it as a school with open classrooms and palm roofs and the other part for housing.
There are two buildings separated by our nice and cozy inner courtyard where you can enjoy the sun or play a game of Ping Pong. One of the buildings contains four bungalows, each of them is equipped with two beds, bathroom, fan and a terrace with hammock, ideal for couples and friends travelling together.
The other one, a two-storied building, covered in the same warm and mediterran colors, provides rooms with two beds, bathroom, fan and a shared balcony, where on the second floor you can enjoy the amazing beach view. Two rooms come with a terrace instead of balcony. All rooms are used as shared room (two persons) or respect to reservation as private rooms (one person only). Only a few steps aside the living quarters and close to the class rooms you will find the cafeteria and dining area. Beyond the school schedule you can feel free to use it as a shared kitchen.
Our other location, the Surf Camp, is located in a very popular surfing area called "Punta Zicatela" in Puerto Escondido, on the southern coast of Oaxaca in Mexico, among the great cities of Acapulco and Huatulco. La Punta is a rustic area, famous among travelers and surfers. By public transport you are in downtown Puerto Escondido in about 25 minutes. Just a few meters from your house you can find Mexican restaurants with typical seafood on the beach, food stores, including alternative food and the best hamburgers. This is the location for our surf camp that is especially designed for people who want to learn, practice or just have fun with surf while learning Spanish at the same time.
In order to get to the Surf camp upon arrival, it is recommended to take a taxi and ask the driver to take you to Surf Camp Experiencia which is located in La Punta Zicatela, on the street called Nuevo Leon, on the corner of Heroes Oaxaquenos. It is very close to the police station. Transfers from the surfcamp to the school with our van are free for the students
The building has a modern style with wood, lights and a fish pond that offers a relaxed and warm atmosphere. We have three floors; downstairs there are 2 standard rooms, 2 dorm rooms, a shared kitchen with an eating area. The second floor provides 5 rooms divided into two buildings. The third room has 3 newly built rooms. The rooms have a unique style for comfort with colorful, fully thermal interiors, and surf culture vibes. This is a perfect place where you can talk with friends in the evenings or just relax. Each twin-share room has two beds, a fan and a private bathroom. If you would like to have a private room, you can book a room just for yourself. Please remember that single rooms are always subject to availability.
Transportation between the surfcamp and the school is included. Transportation to the surf classes is included. Transportation from the airport is NOT included
Breakfast and lunch are not included. During the Spanish classes the school cafeteria is open and offers various types of breakfasts and lunches. We also provide a fully equipped kitchen where you can cook and eat with your friends, alternatively you just go out and eat in one of dozen restaurants in Puerto Escondido.
If you are not sure how to reach Puerto Escondido ask your travel agent. We have several options to get you there, amongst them some very exciting hop on hop off passes in Mexico which can take you from Mexico City all the way to Cancun, via Puerto Escondido or reverse. Alternatively, Puerto Escondido is connected by several domestic flight options.
