Volunteering abroad offers a unique opportunity to make a difference in the world while exploring new cultures and destinations. We work with trustworthy and legitimate volunteer projects all over the world, providing an interesting and rewarding travel experience to travellers who want to participate rather than just visit a destination. Whether you want to volunteer as part of a round-the-world trip or as a standalone adventure, we offer a range of different options including animal welfare, social projects for children and young people, environment and nature, and marine conservation. Where Can I Volunteer Abroad?
Our volunteer opportunities span across Africa, Asia, Central America, South America and Europe. Depending on the location and project, volunteer trips can last anywhere from one to 30 weeks. If you plan to work with children, we require a minimum commitment of four weeks to minimize disruptions for the children.
What Qualities Do I Need to Volunteer?
Volunteer projects are organized by local non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and require flexibility, open-mindedness, and a willingness to help. Fluency in English is typically sufficient, but some projects in Central and South America may require basic knowledge of Portuguese or Spanish. Regardless of the project, expect to work hard and be emotionally prepared for the experience. Remember, you're not saving the world, but you're helping to make it a better place for some individuals.
Why Should I Pay to Volunteer?
The cost of volunteering covers accommodation, food, transportation, a donation to the project, and access to quality-assured, needs-tested projects. While some may question why they should pay to volunteer, it's important to remember that you're not paying to work; you're paying for the surrounding costs. Accommodation is often simple, and meals are usually local. Transfers between accommodation and projects are typically included but ask your travel expert about specific details.
