Bangkok Start this epic journey the right way

You start this journey by flying to Bangkok! We have arranged the first 2 nights, but you’ll get some time to explore on your own, take in the sights and experience this bustling city firsthand. A HOT tip is taking the river boat express! “Bangkokians” use the river boat for commuting, but you should use it for exploration. By doing the conventional “taxi-ride” you’ll be sitting really low, and you’ll only get to see what’s right in front of you. On the express boat, you’re out in the open with the wind in your hair, the city rising in front of you all while seeing how people live at and with the river. The express river boat is fast but also really relaxed, giving you the opportunity to become a part of the daily life! It’s also super cheap… What you should aim for is to get a seat at the back of the boat in the open space… You’ll meet up with the rest of your crew in Bangkok before traveling on to Cambodia!

Cambodia Explore the districts

After a good night’s sleep it’s time to cross the border into Cambodia and arrive in Siem Reap. You’ll arrive in time to enjoy a delicious Khmer meal. Next morning get ready for the incredible temple complex Angkor Wat, some people spend days getting around to see it all!

You and your travel buddies will be traveling on to Phnom Penh to take in parts of Cambodia somber history. You can add activities to learn more about what the people have gone through with a visit to the Tuol Sleng Prison and the Killing Fields. Or venture out to the Silver Pagoda or Royal Palace for a more peaceful experience.

There roundtrip will of course have some stops at nicest beaches that Cambodia has to offer - so bring your swimming gear! You’ll travel to Sihanoukville and board a boat to your own private beach on Koh Rong island!

Next up is a homestay in the Chambok Village where you’ll get to know the local people over a delicious Cambodian home cooked meal.

Vietnam Ho Chi Minh City

From Chombok you’re traveling across the border and into wonderful Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City! You’ll have a couple of days to explore the city with your new friends. This part of the group trip is over, but don’t worry! There’s a new adventure waiting for you in Ho Chi Minh City and all the way up the coast line to Hanoi. We recommend that you enjoy the city for a few days, before jumping on the bus northwards.

Vietnam From Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi

Jump on a 16 days transportation pass taking you all the way from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi. Included in the pass are also accommodation along the way. Enjoy some of the cool vietnamese coastal towns such as Hoi An, Hué, Nha Trang and Dalat on the way to the Capital in the North. The transportation varies, and some stretches might be with bus and some with train. This is a brilliant way to explore Vietnam from South to North without the hassle of organizing everything day by day.

Vietnam Enjoy Hanoi for a few days

Hanoi is a young city and it’s sprawling with students from all of Vietnam. When night falls, the small narrow streets become packed with colored plastic chairs – most crowded are the street corners. That’s where the young people gather, eat sunflower seeds and drink local draft beer and chat while looking at people cruising by. Take a seat and join the pack! They might be shy at first, but we guarantee they’ll love it. It’s the best way of making new local friends.

Vietnam Sapa Village Trek

From Hanoi you’ll embark on a village trek through Sapa, which we argue is one of the most beautiful areas in Vietnam. Vietnam has 54 ethnic groups, and each group has its own distinct color and style of dress. You’ll be traveling by train to Sapa and get to visit several families in the Sapa Valley before returning to Hanoi.

In this trip suggestion it’s the Sapa Village trek that’s included, but if you’re not that interested in trekking, you could change it out with a relaxing boat trip and cruise to Halong Bay! Just saying…

Vietnam to Thailand Travel from Hanoi to Chiang Mai

It’s up to you how you wish to get to Thailand, but in this suggestion, we’ve added flights from Hanoi to Chiang Mai. So, you could hop on a plane from Hanoi to Chiang Mai OR you could add some days and travel from Hanoi to Luang Prabang and continue the journey through Laos to get to Chiang Mai on your own. If you decide to travel through Laos, we suggest that you visit the Saffron Café in Luang Prabang, where you’ll most likely meet a lot of other backpackers. You should also grab some breakfast at Létranger Books! They’re famous for their delicious breakfast and it’s a great way to kick off the day in Luang Prabang!

Thailand Start your journey off in Chiang Mai

In Chiang Mai there’s a great adventure waiting for you! We've arranged 4 days in the North of Thailand. There's both a tour around the city included as well as a cooking class. What else you want to experience is entirely up to you. Make sure you visit one of the majestic Night Markets in the city, they can be bustling and busy but exciting at the same time.

In this suggestion we've included Chiang Mai, but if you're not that into the green surroundings in the North and would rather enjoy the ocean, you could change it up and travel directly from Hanoi to Phuket to join a sailing trip i.e. You'll be visiting Phang Nga Bay, Railay Beach, Ko Ha Yai,Ko Phi Phi, Ko Racha Noi and Ko Yao Yai before returning to Phuket.

Thailand Make your way to Bangkok, Phuket or Singapore

It’s up to you how long you want to travel for, but we suggest you make your way back to either Bangkok, Phuket or Singapore in order to fly home later. If you’re planning on extending your stay in Thailand, there are several activities you could add on. What about volunteering at the Wildlife rescue with elephants? Learn to dive at Koh Tao or experience the epic full moon parties? The options are endless! We've added Phuket to the itinerary, but if that's not your thing, just let us know and we will tailor the experience to your needs.
