Day 1-4: Interrail & Ljubljana

Travel through the German countryside on Deutsche Bahn’s high speed, modern & comfortable trains down to Munich. On Germany’s high-speed trains each train offers an onboard café and restaurant, you can enjoy a coffee at 300km an hour and let the adventurous excitement of your journey begin. From Munich get ready for yesterday’s nostalgic feel for travel. It gets slower now. Take either a day train or night train to Ljubljana, gaze out the window and take in the beautiful scenery as the train rolls through mountainous regions, and transition your way into Balkan - Europe. Enjoy a few nights here on a nicely located hostel we have booked you in. It's the perfect place to mingle with other backpackers.

Day 5: Bled, Slovenia

Arrive in Bled at any time during the day. You'll be guided to the hostel in which you'll stay for the night. Depending on what time you arrive, you'll have free time to explore the small town on your own. The absolute highlight is obviously the beautiful lake which is the center to attention around Bled. If you feel adventurous you can take a hike Mala Osjinica where you'll get the most amazing view over the area!

Day 6: Rafting the river Sava

Let the fun begin! You'll get picked up in the morning and transported to the starting point on the river Sava. The rafting it self is estimated to be for around 1,5 hour, and all necessary equipment will be provided. Don't worry if you're a complete beginner, this rafting adventure is suited for all. Once you had your adrenaline rush, you'll be transported back to Bled, where you can enjoy the lake or hang out with your fellow backpackers from the group.

Day 7: Explore Triglav National Park

Get ready for an adventure through some of Slovenia's most beautiful landscapes. You'll be picked up early in the morning, and the day tour it self migth seem more like an epic road trip with friends than a conventional day tour. The drive will include stops every 10-30 minutes for all the awesome points of interest through the national park. You can look forward to a very scenic trip where you'll see crystal clear lakes, gushing waterfalls, lush green forests and charming old villages trapped in an amphitheater of high hills and mountains. Day 8: Adventure around Bled

You can choose whether you want to join a full day of mountain biking in the beautiful surroundings of Bled or rent a SUP board and explore the lake in a way that feels like you're floating on water. Either option is a perfect way of exploring the area from a different perspective than you've done the past couple of days. This is also the last day in Bled and thus you need to have packed your bags before you continue into Croatia.

Day 9: From Bled to Opatija in Croatia

Catch the train in Bled and enjoy the next 4 hours of beautiful train ride going via Ljubljana before arriving in the northern Croatian town of Opatija. Arrive at any point and enjoy this charming little town on your own before the next adventure starts the day after. Stroll along the small promenade of Opatija and enjoy some nice seafood for dinner.

Day 10: Opatija to Krk Island

Take the ferry from Opatija and enjoy a nice lunch on board followed by a swimming stop in the crystal clear sea en route to Krk island - the largest of the Croatian islands. Krk has immense variety in its villages large and small, gentle green promenades bare rocky wilderness, tiny islands and hundreds of hidden bays and beaches. In the evening you can choose to enjoy the numerous cafes and restaurants alongside the waterfront.

Day 11: Krk Island to Rab Island

After breakfast cruise towards Rab island known as the “island of love”. There will be time for sightseeing in the beautiful town encircled by medieval walls, Romanesque church towers, churches, palaces, stone streets and ancient facades. Enjoy the “gallery” on the streets and squares and try famous “Rapska torta“ cake, it is a must. If the time allows walk up to Kamenjak hill to enjoy the magnificent sunset. Rab Island is truly a beauty!

Day 12: Rab Island to Zadar

Embark on the morning cruise from Rab Island towards Zadar along Pag island with a swimming stop on the tiny Maun Island. Arrive in Zadar in the afternoon which is the end of the Croatian part of this journey. We encourage you to stay in Zadar for a few days though, as there is plenty of things to explore here.

For centuries, Zadar was the metropolis of Dalmatia, and today the centre of the region. Here you can see The Roman forum dating back to the 1st century AD, the church of St. Donatus with the most famous medieval basilica and the symbol of the city, the mighty city walls with representative Port and Land gates.

Day 13: Travel on your own or head back home

Your journey has come to an end, and you can choose to continue on your own further down through Croatia and the rest of Balkan, or you can head back home. If you choose the last option, you can catch a train that takes you to up through Europe again. You can spend your last travel days in your Interrail pass.

This awesome roundtrip takes you through some of the most amazing natural landscapes in Slovenia and Northern Croatia. Embark on a beautiful train ride through Europe, enjoy Slovenia's magnificent landscapes before exploring some of the most beautiful spots in Northern Croatia.

This is a journey for the nature loving and adventurous person. Kick off the adventure by going with train through Europe till you reach first Slovenia and Bled where the round trip starts!

In Bled you'll meet up with the rest of the group, and you'll have 4 day tours departing from here, and in the afternoon you can enjoy the most iconic lake in Slovenia with your fellow travellers. 

After 4 days in Slovenia, you'll make your own way to Opatija in Croatia where a nice sailing adventure awaits. Chill on the boat while you cruise through the Adriatic Ocean while checking out some of the beautiful Croatian islands.
