This trip is all about culture, tradition and relaxation. Known for its picturesque landscape, temples and artists, Ubud is a great place from which to explore central Bali. It is also a place where you can learn more about its deep-rooted Hindu tradition mixed with abundance of arts.
A cycling tour takes you around the rice fields and villages near Ubud with friendly farmers smiling and greeting you as paddle past them. Then continue to Gili Trawangan by fast boat, a bounty island just off the coast of Lombok. Turquoise-coloured waters await in Gili - the island is known for its underwater beauty and no motorized vehicles making it a perfect place to relax after a visit to Bali.
Itinerary

5 Days - South Bali via Ubud to Gili Trawangan

Day 1: Pick-Up in South Bali & Transfer to Ubud

Today you will go from South Bali to Ubud. On the way you will pass rice fields, Balinese temples, and small craft villages. Upon your arrival in Ubud, you have time to explore the small town.

Travel time: Approximately 2 hours

Day 2: Half Day Cycling Tour

You will be picked up at your accommodation in the morning, and driven to the starting point of this cultural cycling trip in Tampaksiring. Pay attention to the safety instructions before hopping on your bike. Along the route you will enjoy an abundance of rice field views, a sacred village temple, traditional Balinese compounds and an 11th century temple that is used for specific ceremonies and deep meditation. You will be accompanied by two guides the entire time who will not only make sure everything goes smoothly, but also will give you more insight to the places visited. The tour will end at one of their homes where you will get to enjoy a traditional homemade lunch before being transferred back to your accommodation in Ubud.

Day 3: Ubud Free Day

Enjoy a free day in paradise! Your free time lets you explore this serene place. Breathe the cool air and wonderful sights of Ubud while you’re walking around. Just strolling the small alleys and paths, trying local dishes and greeting the locals may fascinate your day.

Day 4: Ubud - Gili Trawangan

Gili Trawangan is waiting as today you will reach the island on a fast boat. You will be picked up in the morning to get to the harbour and board the fast boat to take you to the small island. Upon arrival, you can walk to your hotel or take a cidomo (horse-carriage) that costs around IDR 150,000 (at your own cost). The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy.
