Colca Canyon Trekking 3D/2N

Day 1: Arequipa - Colca Canyon, Peru

Begin with a very early morning departure from Arequipa at 3:00 am to reach the Colca Canyon for breakfast and to visit the "Cruz del Condor" overlook. Trek deep into the canyon through local villages and reach your lodge for a rewarding dinner.

Arequipa - Colca Canyon Trekking (B/L/D)
We will pick you up from your hotel between 3:00 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. and transfer you to Chivay where you will have breakfast. We will then head towards the Cruz del Condor to (Condor Crossing) to see majestic condors flying through the canyon before continuing our way to Cabanaconde. We will begin our hike at around 10:00 am by walking down to the village of San Juan de Chuccho. (3 ½ hours walking). Upon arrival at the village, you will have time for lunch and relax. Settle into your lodging and enjoy the scenery of the impressive canyon for the afternoon. Have dinner and get a good night's sleep.

Day 2: Colca Canyon, Peru

Trek to the lowest altitude point in the canyon for lunch and then continue to Sangalle for the night.

Colca Canyon Trekking (B/L/D)
Wake up early and have a hearty breakfast before continuing your trek along the other side of the canyon, passing through the villages of Cosnirhua and Malata, before reaching Sangalle, located at the lowest altitude point of the canyon (3 hours walking). We will arrive around midday, depending on our pace, and have lunch. We will have the rest of the afternoon to rest up, relax in the pool and enjoy another day in the midst of the Colca Canyon. Overnight in Sangalle.

Day 3: Colca Canyon - Arequipa, Peru

Enjoy your last day in the Colca Canyon by trekking up to Cabanaconde and take the bus back to Chivay. Soak your sore legs in the hot springs before returning to Arequipa after a long, but enjoyable trip.

Colca Canyon Trekking - Arequipa (B)
Today, we will get an early start at about 5:00 am and begin trekking up to Cabanaconde town where we will have breakfast (3 hours steep uphill hike). Take the bus back to Chivay and visit Maca village and tourist viewpoints on your way. Upon arrival to Chivay, we will have lunch and have the opportunity to visit the relaxing hot springs in town (30-40 minutes), the perfect remedy for our tired muscles. On your way to Arequipa, you will stop to see the National Park and get beautiful views of volcanoes and native animals such as alpacas and vicunas. Relax and enjoy the scenic ride back to Arequipa arriving around 06:00 pm.

Passengers must carry their personal belongings during the trek, we suggest bringing a small backpack only with the necessary things for the trek.

Trekking boots, hat, sunglasses, coat, rain poncho, insect repellent, sunblock, small backpack, flashlight, bathing suit, towel, camera, extra batteries, water & extra snacks, extra cash for personal expenses, prescription medications.
Physical difficulty:

Please be aware that this is a physically demanding trek, with lots of stairs and steep inclines. This trek is not recommended for anyone with knee injuries or related ailments.
