Guadalajara Experience 5D/4N

Day 1: Guadalajara, Mexico

Transfer from Guadalajara to Guadalajara
You will be picked up at your accommodation/meeting point for your shuttle transfer to  Mexico City, where you'll be dropped off at your next accommodation/meeting point.

Day 2: Guadalajara, Mexico

Venture to the town of Tequila in Jalisco (Mexico's renowned tequila-producing region) beside agave fields that blend amazingly with the mountainous region creating gorgeous vistas. Enjoy an exquisite tour and tasting at Casa Herradura - one of the most famous tequila distilleries in the world.

You'll be picked up at your hotel in Guadalajara in the morning and driven by minivan into the Jaliscan countryside. During the 1-hour drive to the city of Tequila, stop to admire mountain vistas and the fields of agave azul (blue agave) - the succulent plant used to make tequila, the Mexican national drink. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage site, these blue-green patches of agave plants blend beautifully with the earth tones in the natural landscape.
Visit the typical and picturesque town of Tequila with a stop for lunch (own expense) before heading to the nearby town of Amatitan, where Casa Herradura is located. On a small-group tour of the world-famous distillery and its hacienda, learn about past and present-day tequila production techniques. Discover tequila's indigenous origins and the Spanish who distilled the beverage into the tequila known today, and marvel at the craftsmanship that Casa Herradura has bottled since 1870.
You'll witness the modern fermentation and distillation process of blue Weber agave before a tasting of several different types of tequila aged in oak casks. A master tequilier will guide you through the different aromas and flavors. After touring the facility and tasting this national liquor, you will undoubtedly feel like a tequila connoisseur!
Your guide will take you back to Guadalajara with drop-off at your hotel in the early evening.

Day 3: Guadalajara, Mexico

Explore the amazing gastronomy, culture, handicrafts, and architecture of the two most representative cities of the state of Jalisco.

We start the panoramic tour by visiting the roundabout of Minerva, the representative guardian of the city erected in the '50s. We then continue towards the 20 meter high neoclassical arches of the old entrance to Guadalajara, which mark the start of the Guadalajara-Morelia highway and where we can appreciate the colors of the coat of arms of the state of Jalisco.
Later, we will go to Chapultepec Avenue, a cultural corridor located in one of the liveliest areas of Guadalajara. Our journey continues towards Libertad Street, where you can travel towards the end of the 1800s and enjoy its magnificent architecture.
We then go towards the Temple of the Expiatorio, the Historical Center of Guadalajara, and the Metropolitan Cathedral, before stopping at the Government Palace to see Jose Clemente Orozco's murals.
After that, we will walk around the Liberation Square and see the Degollado Theater, where the famous mariachi galas are held each September.
The tour finishes in Tlaquepaque, where you can try the specialties from a restaurant in the Corredor Independencia and visit a traditional sweet shop.

Day 4: Guadalajara, Mexico

Fall in love with the beauty of Chapala and Ajijic and live an unparalleled experience admiring Mexico's largest lake and the migratory birds that call it home.

Begin your tour of Mexico's largest freshwater lake and the surrounding area with a visit to the old train station and it's magnificent hundred-year-old French facade. Next, walk along the lake's boardwalk to enjoy the natural beauty that is home to several species of migratory birds.
The tour continues towards La Floresta, a beautiful, tree-lined residential area and home to many retired international citizens due to the area's extremely pleasant climate. Later on, we will enjoy some free time in Ajijic before transferring to Piedra Barrenada for chill vibes and lunch (not included) before boarding the bus back to Chapala.
