The Trans-Mongolian Railway (the name depends on the exact routing you end up taking), is an unforgettable and exciting journey which will take you by train from the Russian capital of Moscow to the Chinese capital of Beijing. If you just want to enjoy the experience, but be free of all the hassle of taking care of everything yourself, leave everything in our capable hands as we take care of all the planning parts of your journey. We will book all the trains (4 berth compartments) from Moscow to Beijing with a stop in Ulaanbaatar, and accommodation along the way.
The Trans-Mongolian Railway, the pride of Russia, goes across two continents, 12 regions and 87 cities. It is the longest continuous rail line on earth, each run clattering along in an epic journey of almost 10,000 km, over one third of the globe. A great part of the pleasure of such a trip is simply sitting back and watching the land go by. The Trans-Mongolian Railway is all about the physical journey. It's about being able to see the slow change in cultures as you cross several thousands kilometers by one of the oldest travelling methods of the modern era. It's about meeting the locals on their home turf and enjoying their hospitality whether it be on the train or out and about on your stops. This journey is for people who are in no rush to get to where they are going. A special treat on this journey is a visit to Ulaanbaatar and discovering amazing Mongolia before reaching China. So if you are thinking of doing the Trans-Mongolian Railway the only thing we can say is "Welcome to one of your life's most challenging adventures, remember to enjoy it!".

Trans-Mongolian Accommodation & Tour Package - Moscow to Ulaanbaatar to Beijing

Day 1 - Arrival in Moscow

Ready for your adventure by rail along the Trans-Mongolian route? Arrive in Moscow at any time on a Monday. Upon arrival you are transferred from the train station to your hotel.

Day 2 - Free Day in Moscow

Free day to explore Moscow on your own. Visit Red Square, The Kremlin, Arbat Street or go even further with the Moscow Metro. In the evening depart by train towards Ulaanbaatar (4 berth compartment).

Days 3 to 7 - Moscow to Ulaanbaatar/Hustai National Park

Spend your time on the train as it slowly meanders towards Ulaanbaatar, the chaotic capital of Mongolia. As the journey takes 5 days make sure to bring along a lot of reading material to pass the time. The train will make small scheduled stops along the route where you will have the possibility to buy food from the local vendors. We arrive in Ulaanbaatar on Sunday morning and transfer with car/jeep from the train station to Hustai National Park. Upon arrival in the park you will be accommodated in a ger camp (gers are the traditional dwellings of the nomadic mongols). After lunch at the ger camp we go for a drive to see the Przewalski horse, the famous wild horse of Mongolia (locally known as the Takhi horse). Return to the ger camp for dinner.
Meals: L/D

Day 8 - Hustai National Park

After breakfast we visit a nomad family and experience their way of life which is deeply bound to tradition, partaking in the traditional nomad foods and having a go at some horseback riding. After having lunch at the camp we will visit an old burial site all the way back from the Turkish era where you will be able to see several remarkable stone sculptures. Return to the ger camp in the evening for a hearty dinner. Depending on the season, there are great opportunities to enjoy a magnificent sunset or a breathtakingly clear night sky populated with thousands of stars.
Meals: B/L/D

Day 9 - Hustai National Park to Ulaanbaatar

We depart the ger camp in the direction of Ulaanbaatar. Once in Ulaanbaatar check into your centrally located accommodation. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy as you wish.

Day 10 - Free Day in Ulaanbaatar

Today we leave you to your own devices. Explore Ulaanbaatar as you wish. You can go see the centrally placed Sukhbaatar square with the statue of the revolutionary hero Damdin Sukhbataar. Nearby the square you can find the Goverment Palace with a huge statue of Genghis Khan. Other sights include Gandan monastary and Museum of National History to name but a few. Make sure to get a good nights rest as we are leaving Ulaanbaatar early next morning!
