Got some extra time during your trip to South Korea? These volunteer projects in Seoul let you give back for 14 days while living in a temple. You can choose to volunteer at a local soup kitchen or as a Child Care Assistant.
Childcare in Seoul
If you love working with kids, this project’s for you. You’ll help out with fun activities like teaching English, playing games, doing crafts, and even dancing K-pop. The focus is on giving support and joining in on meaningful learning moments for kids who need it most.
Soup Kitchen in Seoul
Right in the heart of Seoul, you can volunteer at a soup kitchen that prepares and serves meals to elderly people in need. For many, this meal is their main source of food, giving you a real look into some of South Korea’s social and economic challenges. The project also includes a culture week packed with local experiences that let you get to know Seoul’s rich culture up close.
Accommodation
Where you stay is a big part of the experience — volunteers live in a temple run by local monks. You’ll get the chance to join tea ceremonies, meditation sessions, and chat with the monks. The temple is in Hongdae, a lively area near Hongik University that’s full of cafes, art, and student life.
