Why consider an internship abroad

Picture this: an internship abroad that's not just about work but a whole new chapter of life! Whether you're a college student or a recent graduate, the idea of jetting off to a foreign country for work experience might seem a bit daring, but trust us, it's an adventure you won't want to miss. Think about it – you get to live, learn, and work in a brand-new culture. It's like getting a crash course in the world, and the best part is, you're not just a tourist – you're part of the action. An overseas internship means building a global mindset, making friends from all over, and adding a unique edge to your resume. Plus, the skills you'll pick up, like adaptability and intercultural communication, are golden nuggets in today's job market. But it's not all about your career; it's about having the time of your life, growing personally, and coming back with stories that'll leave your friends totally jealous. So, why should you do an internship abroad? It's the perfect combo of adventure, experience, and memories that'll last a lifetime.

In what fields can I do an internship in Australia?

If you're interested in switching up your routines for some work experience down under, you might be wondering in what industries you can apply for internships. We're happy to say, almost anything is possible! Whether it's Social Work, Education, Marketing, Communications, Tourism, Event Management or Business Administration - we will do our best to match you with the best suitable position. Even if you're field of interest isn't included above, you can still reach out so we can see what the possibilities are.

You might also be wondering whether you get a stipend or salary when starting an internship in Australia. In general, the answer is no. You might get reimbursed for public transport or similar expenses, but not a real salary. The internship is an investment in yourself, but that doesn't mean the company you work for is profiting of you. Instead of money, you're really here for the work experience and you're sure to gain bucketloads of that. No photocopying or doing coffee rounds for you, but meaningful work in an inspiring environment. This experience will be a great asset to you for your entire career!

Choose between a cosy homestay or private accommodation

When it comes to accommodation for your internship, you'll have a few options. You can look for your own housing that suits you, but in our experience this can be difficult from a distance. Alternatively, we offer both homestay and single housing so it should be easy to find something to fit your tastes.

Navigating student accommodation in Australia can be a daunting task, especially for international students who are arranging it from a distance. We totally get it, and that's why we're here to help you explore your options.

Homestay Living - a Taste of Aussie Life

Imagine arriving in a new country, far from home, and being greeted with a warm "G'day!" by your Australian host or host family. That's the charm of opting for a homestay. It's like having your own piece of Australia right from the start.

The Benefits:

  1. Cultural Insights: You'll get to experience the Australian way of life up close and personal. Sharing a home with locals is the perfect way to learn about their customs, traditions, and you might even get a lesson in Aussie slang.

  2. Home Away from Home: In a foreign land, it's comforting to have someone to fall back on. Your host can become your guide, and friend, making your transition to life Down Under smoother.

  3. Language Practice: If English isn't your first language, living with an Australian host is a fantastic way to improve your language skills.

Single Accommodation - Independence and Privacy

On the other hand, single accommodation offers a different kind of freedom. If you're the independent type and prefer to chart your own course, this option might be more appealing.

The Benefits:

  1. Privacy: You have your own space, your own rules. It's perfect for those who value solitude and self-reliance.

  2. Flexibility: You're not bound by any particular schedule or household norms, making it easier to adapt to your own routine.

  3. Self-Reliance: Managing your daily life, from cooking to cleaning, can teach you valuable life skills.

At the end of the day, the choice comes down to your personal preferences. Are you excited about learning the Australian way of life from an Aussie host, or do you crave the freedom to create your own adventure down under? While it's decision you need to make, we're here to make it a little easier for you. No matter which option you choose, just remember, in Australia, you're about to start an unforgettable journey filled with unique experiences and opportunities!

Our popular packages

All of the above sounds great, right? And it get's better with our package deals. Choosing for one of these options, you're already securing your accommodation in Australia in your city of choice, for a predetermined amount of time.

It would take to long to drop all of the packages in this blog, but we'd like to highlight one of our favourites, the Sydney Student Pack 12. In this combo package, you'll get 12 weeks of cosy single accommodation, including the bedlinen. Your place will be completely furnished, so you don't need to worry about furniture and the like. There are similar packages, either with private accommodation or a homestay for either 6, 8 or 12 weeks. It's even possible to add additional weeks if necessary.

No matter which pack you choose, they all include internship placement, which can be either full or part-time, along with airport transfers for both arrival and departure. Ongoing support is provided, even after office hours, to make sure there is always assistance available if needed. The package also covers personal liability insurance and offers an introduction, either online or in-person, and ongoing monitoring with check-ins during the internship. While visa guidance is not included and is the responsibility of you as an applicant, a $50 public transport card is provided which can be independently recharged. Additionally, there are optional extra weekend activities available upon request for an additional cost which we highly recommend, as it's a great way to meet fellow interns and make new friends!
