Other financing options

Other ways to finance your studies abroad are to loan funds and loan based scholarships or maybe you can even use crowdfunding. You can consider this if you are not eligible for a study allowance abroad, a scholarship from the university and / or a part-time job or if the contribution is insufficient.

Foundations

Outside the university, there are also various companies, foundations and agencies that make funds and scholarships available annually for studies, internships or research abroad. It is certainly worthwhile to delve into this and to apply for one or more of these programs. How much you qualify for, depends on what you are going to do exactly, to which country you are going and for how long, and of course your gradesand financial situation.

The KILROY Foundation Grant

KILROY Foundation is a non-profit initiative that was set up in 2013 to improve global education. The KILROY Foundation does this by setting up projects and providing scholarships that focus on education. Students from Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden can apply for a KILROY Foundation Grant.

There are already several students who have successfully used this new form of financing. You can create your own website or use a crowdfunding site. If you have something unique to offer, this can better your chancen!

Loans

Request a loan from a bank or borrow money from your parents. Ask the bank and your parents about the possibilities. But beware: Borrowing money costs money!
