English tests for studying abroad

There maybe be some universities that require either a TOEFL or an IELTS English test to approve your academic English before acceptance. This is not always the case though and we recommend that you contact us to ask if you have to take a test before you sign up for one.

The two most widely accepted English tests are TOEFL and IELTS and what they have in common is that they test your ability to listen, read, write and speak English on an academic level.

Should I take a test before I apply for my studies abroad?

Always ask us before you sign up and pay for a an English test. It is not all students that have to take an English test and this is based on individual basis. The score requirements vary from course to course and university to university.

Most universities will accept that you submit your application before you have your test scores.

If the course you apply for requires a high test score then you might want to consider whether you are most likely to get a high TOEFL or IELTS score. In a situation like this you should also check how many times and how often you can retake the TOEFL or IELTS test where you live.

We recommend that you prepare well before taking the IELTS or TOEFL test. There are several excellent online resources that can help you prepare for your IELTS or TOEFL test.
