Kickstart your Mexican adventure with a couple of days in Mexico City and get to know your new travel buddies for the next 2 weeks. You'll also be touring the city itself and learning about its history and colorful neighborhoods before it's time to start exploring everything else Mexico has to offer!
During the first few days you'll be making your way south to Oaxaca over land, from where you will continue to the Yucatan peninsula via San Cristóbal and Palenque. Get ready to experience everything from local cuisine to iconic ancient ruins, small towns and incredible history. And don't worry, there will be plenty of time to dip into the beautiful cenotes on the way and chill at the beach with a drink in your hand. Maybe you'll also find yourself dancing away in the local nightlife?
Your first stop on the Yucatan Peninsula will be in Bacalar with its beautiful lagoon and chill vibes. From here you'll travel to Valladolid, where you'll go on a tour to Chichen Itzá. The 16 day tour ends in Tulum - a laid back town with beautiful beaches and ruins.
From Tulum, you'll catch a bus on your own, towards Playa del Carmen, for some epic diving! Doing your Open Water Course - the initial step on the ladder in your diving adventure - in Playa del Carmen will provide you with a diving experience that is far from what you would get anywhere else. Seeing the light piercing through little holes in the cave ceilings is a magical experience that you will most likely never forget!
The course consists of five modules of learning, meaning that it's a combination of self-studying and theory as well as practical lessons and an exam.
As for your accommodation during the course, you will be checking into your very own quiet apartment. Within 100 meters you will find the dive center, the beach and the main street with cafes, bars, little art shops and Mexican market stands.
Please note that you should allow a day or two after your last dive before hopping onto the return flight home.
