Start your trip in Vancouver, where we have included accommodation for the first 2 nights so that you can get a smooth start to your adventure. Take your time exploring the city and get ready to hit the road!
If you wish to visit Vancouver Island (and we definitely think you should!), we recommend that you extend your trip by a week or two, and either travel there before or after your road trip. This island is well-known for its nature, surfing spots and whale-watching possibilities!
Okanagan Valley is one of the warmest and sunniest areas in all of Canada. Here you can relax and soak up the sun at one of the many sandy beaches along the Okanagan Lake. If you are a wine lover, this is also the time to put Canadian wine to the test, as Okanagan Valley is the second largest wine region in Canada.
Next up you should stop by the small town of Revelstoke, where you can test your skills in their famous alpine trails either on skis or on a mountain bike, depending on the season. Afterwards, head for the even smaller mountain village community of Field. Challenge yourself for the Paget Lookout hike that takes you through some amazing views!
It’s back to the big city life! As with most cosmopolitan cities, Calgary offers great shopping, countless dining opportunities, a fascinating arts scene and an exciting nightlife. Check out Heritage Park Historical Village and experience Calgary as it was is the 1800s. If you happen to go in July, do not miss the annual rodeo festival at Calgary Stampede – it’s the highlight of the year!
Next up are adventures in Banff and Jasper. When in the Banff national park, stop by Lake Louise and head for the Tea House trail - you'll get amazing views of the lake and glacier.
Then continue onwards to the cozy mountain town of Jasper. Take the Jasper SkyTram for a breathtaking panoramic view of the Rocky Mountains and head to the popular Jasper Brewing Company for great beers and a good time with the friendly locals. For nature activities, we recommend the Sulphur Skyline Hike that starts and ends in Miette Hot Springs. Another highlight in this area is the Athabasca Glacier, so make sure you leave some time to visit this magnificent sight!
In Kamloops, you will never fall short of activities to keep you busy. Curling, trekking, Segway tours and ziplining are just a few of the activities you can try here. Alternatively, you can test your skills in foot golfing – yes, it’s an actual thing! Kick the football through 18 holes and see which one of you is best at combining the two sports.
Make your way to Whistler, Canada's outdoor capital. If you travel during the skiing-season (November – May), you cannot leave Whistler without having tried the slopes of North Americas largest ski resort. You can also go on a bear viewing tour (if you dare!), hike The Whistler Valley Trail or get your adrenaline kick on a white water rafting adventure!
The road trip ends back in Vancouver. Now you can decide to fly back home, spend a few more days exploring Vancouver, head off to Vancouver Island or maybe go visit Seattle across the border. Options are endless, so whatever you choose, we'll help you arrange it.
