Koh Samet is a small island not far from Bangkok and as with Koh Chang it is also a National Park. It only takes one day to walk the length and breadth of Koh Samet. If you don't want to walk then you can get around on either a songthaew (an open sided bus) for very little money between beaches or rent a bicycle.
Most beaches on Koh Samet are located on the east side of the island. The beaches boast with high standards with brilliant white sand, however varying in size. Most beaches on Koh Samet are not more than 200 meters in lenght.
Koh Samet is a place to go for peace and quiet for travelers and Thais alike. There is a little nightlife to be found on Hat Sai Kaew (Diamond beach) which is the largest beach on the Koh Samet. The further south you go the fewer tourists you will meet.
Koh Samet climate
