Argentina & Brazil
Start in Buenos Aires, where late dinners, old neighbourhoods and local bars pull you straight into everyday Argentine life. You’ll eat well, walk a lot, and ease into the trip before heading north to one of South America’s big nature highlights.
At Iguazu, you’re right next to the falls, feeling the power of the water from both the Argentine and Brazilian sides. It’s loud, wet, impressive – and a total switch from city life. Then it’s on to Bonito and the Pantanal, where the pace slows and nature takes over. Clear rivers, swimming with fish, wildlife spotting, and wide open spaces that make you feel far from everything.
Rio de Janeiro brings the energy back with beaches, viewpoints, music, and nights out. To round things off, you'll spend some days on Ilha Grande, where there are no cars, just forest paths, quiet beaches, boat trips, and time to fully switch off together. A solid mix of culture, nature, and proper downtime.
- Recommended duration: 3 weeks
- Price range: £3500-£4000 p.p.
- Best time to travel: between late November and March
South Africa
You kick things off in Cape Town, with its mix of beaches, mountains, food spots and neighbourhoods that invite you to slow down and explore. From here, you pick up the car and ease into road trip mode, starting with the winelands around Stellenbosch, where vineyard views, small towns and long lunches set the tone.
The drive continues along the coast to Hermanus, known for ocean views, coastal walks and a laid-back feel, before heading inland to Swellendam, a quiet stop surrounded by nature and wide landscapes. Oudtshoorn adds a change of scenery with semi-desert views, mountain passes and plenty of space to roam, before the road leads you back towards the coast.
Knysna sits right on the water and is perfect for boat trips, forest walks and relaxed evenings, while the final stretch to Port Elizabeth wraps up the road trip side of the journey. From there, you fly north to Kruger National Park for a completely different experience. Early mornings, game drives, and nights under the African sky bring you face to face with wildlife and give the trip a memorable finish.
- Recommended duration: 2 weeks
- Price range: £2500-£3000 p.p.
- Best time to travel: between December and March
Mexico
You start in Mexico City, where big-city energy meets deep history. Spend your days moving between street food stalls, colourful markets, cool neighbourhoods and ancient ruins just outside the city. There’s always something going on, whether it’s art, music or just life unfolding around you.
Puebla slows the pace a little, with colonial streets, tiled facades and some of the country’s best food. It’s a great place to wander without a plan, stop for long lunches and soak up the atmosphere. Then on to Oaxaca, where culture really takes centre stage. Think local markets, mezcal tastings, nearby ruins and small villages where traditions are still part of daily life.
Finally, you head to Puerto Escondido on the Pacific coast. Here, it’s all about beach days, sunset swims and easy evenings by the water. Whether you’re into surfing or just want to relax with your feet in the sand, it’s the perfect way to balance out the city experiences and end the trip on a slower, sun-soaked note.
- Recommended duration: 2-3 weeks
- Price range: £2200-£2800 p.p.
- Best time to travel: between November and April (late April to September for surfing in Puerto Escondido)
Canada
You start in Vancouver, easing into the trip with ocean views, green parks and a relaxed west coast feel. From here, you hit the road (or campervan) and quickly leave the city behind, heading into quieter, wilder parts of British Columbia. Chelalis Lake, Nahatlatch Provincial Park and the Coquihalla Lakes bring you straight into remote nature, with hiking trails, lakeside camps and nights that feel properly off-grid.
As you head east, the landscapes keep changing. Around Revelstoke and Nakusp, it’s all about mountain towns, hot springs, forest roads and slow mornings with coffee outside the van. Bugaboo Provincial Park ups the drama with sharp peaks, big views and some of the most striking alpine scenery in the country, followed by the wide valleys of Blaeberry and Beaverfoot, where the road opens up and the pace drops again.
Crossing into the Rockies, Jasper and Banff deliver classic Canadian scenery: glaciers, turquoise lakes, wildlife sightings and scenic drives that never get old. You finish in Kananaskis and the Bow Valley, slightly quieter but just as impressive, before rolling into Calgary. A road trip made for couples who want freedom, space, and a steady mix of active days and relaxed evenings by the fire.
- Recommended duration: 2-3 weeks
- Price range: £2000-£3000 p.p. (excluding campsites)
- Best time to travel: between late May and September
Philippines
You start in Cebu, easing into island life before heading south to Moalboal. Here, the days are active but fun, with canyoneering at Kawasan Falls that mixes swimming, jumps and jungle scenery, followed by quieter moments by the sea. An early hike up Osmeña Peak adds wide views and fresh air, and the rest of the time is yours to relax, snorkel or just enjoy the slower pace.
From there, you cross over to Dumaguete and nearby Dauin, where the focus shifts underwater. This is where you learn to dive with Blue Venture, taking things step by step and getting comfortable below the surface. The coast around Dauin is known for calm conditions and rich marine life, making it a great place to build confidence and enjoy being in the water together.
Siquijor rounds off the Philippines part of the trip with quiet beaches, waterfalls, scooter rides and a relaxed island rhythm that’s easy to fall into. To finish, you fly on to Singapore for a short city break, adding great food, neighbourhood exploring and a bit of urban energy before heading home.
- Recommended duration: 2 weeks
- Price range: £2250-£2750 p.p.
- Best time to travel: between November and April, with the best months being December to February.
Kenya & Tanzania
You begin in Nairobi and quickly head out into the wild, where the Masai Mara sets the tone with open savannah, big skies and game drives that bring you close to elephants, lions and giraffes. It’s early mornings, golden light and evenings sharing stories from the day.
Crossing into Tanzania, Arusha is your gateway to the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. The Serengeti delivers those classic safari moments, while the crater feels almost unreal with its dense wildlife in a natural bowl of green. In Mto wa Mbu, you get a glimpse of local life and farming communities before heading back to Nairobi.
Then it’s time to swap safari dust for ocean air. In Stone Town, you wander narrow streets, discover layers of history and enjoy evenings by the water. Jambiani on Zanzibar’s east coast is all about slowing down: long beaches, turquoise water and days that move at their own pace. A journey that combines raw nature, wildlife encounters and proper beach time at the end.
- Recommended duration: around 3 weeks
- Price range: £4000-£5000 p.p.
- Best time to travel: between June - October and in January and February.
New Zealand
You start in Christchurch and head through the South Island, with mountain passes, glaciers and lakes shaping the route early on. Arthur’s Pass, Fox Glacier, Wanaka and Queenstown flow naturally into each other, mixing scenic drives with short hikes, lakeside towns and plenty of chances to be active or slow things down. Fiordland and Stewart Island add a quieter, more remote feel, followed by Dunedin’s coastal scenery and a relaxing stop in Hanmer Springs.
From there, Marlborough eases you back into a gentler pace before crossing to the North Island. Wellington, Taupo and Rotorua bring compact cities, geothermal landscapes and easy outdoor stops, while Waitomo Caves and Northland link glowworms, beaches and time on the water. The Bay of Islands and a trip out to the Poor Knights Islands round off the nature side of the journey.
You finish in Auckland after a trip that keeps changing without feeling rushed. The route works well with a rental car or campervan, and it’s also doable with a bus pass. Travelling from south to north is often the smart choice too, as there’s no one-way fee on the vehicle and prices are usually lower.
- Recommended duration: Around 3 weeks
- Price range: £2750-£3500
- Best time to travel: between January and March
