To show off his abilities, he created a stunning 90-second cinematic that caught the eye of a Swedish game studio. He was hired to work on the cutscenes for Lords of the Fallen, a game by the same developers of Cyberpunk 2077. Torrens Alumnus Dan Braga turned his passion for storytelling into a successful career as a film director, thanks to his film and animation degree from Billy Blue College of Design at Torrens University. Dan’s journey began in Norway, where he discovered his love for creative media already during his high school years. He decided to explore the world and pursue his studies in Australia, where he found Billy Blue's practical and international program in film and animation. During his time at Torrens University he learned the skills and techniques of his craft, from 3D art to motion design. After graduating, he started his career as a freelance designer and 3D artist, working on various projects such as the Sydney Opera House sails during Vivid Festival 2017.

Working on different design tasks, Dan realized that he wanted to try out film directing, which led him to move to Berlin and work on his own short films and commercials. His documentary ''By The River'', about India’s Death Hotels, was selected for the Australia Antenna Documentary Film Festival, showcasing his talent and vision as a filmmaker. His work has received international attention with selections at several Oscar-qualifying film festivals, got broadcast on ABC Australia, shortlisted at the Young Directors Award and screened at Camerimage. Exciting collaboration with Swedish design agency Snask

Torrens University also encourages a culture of creativity and innovation among its students and staff. Most recently the school collaborated with renowned Scandinavian design agency called Snask, to teach the students a lesson in disruption. When the founders of Snask came to the Billy Blue College of Design, they brought their fun, inspirational, and disruptive attitude with them. Their agency, which specializes in branding, graphic design, film, motion and photography, hosted a workshop for Graphic Design, Communication Design, and Digital Media students at Torrens University’s Ultimo campus.

Snask is known for their offbeat and provocative style, as well as their humorous and honest attitude. They call themselves the ‘doctors of disturbance, wizards of disruption and spokesmen of disobedience’. They shared their insights and experiences on creative entrepreneurship, portfolio building, and internships with the students, and challenged them to think about their own values and truths as designers and individuals. Snask encouraged the students to embrace change, take risks, and be disruptive problem solvers. The visit was a memorable and enriching experience for both the students and the agency, and a testament to how Torrens University can help students connect with the real world of design through its network of partners.
