Here you'll find an overwhelming natural beauty in the middle of the Rocky Mountains with a wide range of opportunities for an active holiday. Book your trip to Banff National Park and Calgary with KILROY.

Banff is located about 100 km from Calgary in the middle of the magnificent Rocky Mountains.

Before traveling on to Banff National Park, you might want to enjoy a few days in Calgary, which offers a good combination of cultural opportunities and outdoor activities like ice skating and splendid views of the surrounding Rocky Mountains.

In Banff National Park you will find not only stunning Alpine scenery with perfect snow conditions, but also several glaciers, lakes, dense forests, waterfalls and beautiful mountain peaks and valleys like the famous Valley of the Ten Peaks.

The town of Banff

The town of Banff is just a small town with barely 8,000 inhabitants, but it is also a cozy place and a good starting point for adventures in the great and amazing Banff National Park. Banff is located at 1,400 meters altitude and has a dazzling view of the Rocky Mountains. You will find plenty of hotels and restaurants, and in particular during peak summer and winter, buzzing streets, restaurants and lively bars with happy travelers.

Best of Banff

When traveling to Banff, you must first and foremost see the beautiful emerald green Lake Louise. Morraine Lake and Lake Peyto are also beautiful. When you are done photographing these awesome lakes (it can take some time ...) you can go skiing.

You will find more than 1,600 km of hiking trails in Banff National Park of different lengths and difficulty levels. You can get lots of information before setting off on a hike in the park's Visitor Centre. It is possible to camp in many places in the park, and in addition to hiking, you can go mountain biking, canoeing or horse riding. This wild nature paradise is perfect for a little of everything.

When in Banff you also have to include a trip to the Sulphur Mountains, which can be reached by cable car from Banff Gondola. Here at the top you will find one of the best views in all of Banff. Mount Norquay is another great place to enjoy the view of mountains and valleys.

To the north is another national park, Jasper. The two national parks share the amazing Icefields Parkway, a 230 kilometers long route that passes by many of the greatest natural attractions in these two parks.

Skiing in Banff

It's no wonder that Banff has become one of the most popular ski areas in Canada and throughout North America. The powder snow is perfect, the surrounding nature generous and rarely any queues at the ski lift. The ski season runs from mid-November to late May.
