The PADI Advanced Open Water course is the next step, when increasing your knowledge and developing your skills in the world of diving. Besides extending your limits, it will make your diving safer and more enjoyable! The course consists of 5 dives, each of them explores a new area of diving, like deep diving, night diving, navigation or underwater naturalist. It is a playful course giving you experience and control in the water by simply diving with different purposes and goals. It is a special course, which should be done in a special place. And right now, you are reading about a VERY special place! From long shallow calm dives, along a thriving reef, full of life, sponges and soft corals, to amazing underwater structures, with a diversity and freshness rarely seen! Find yourself slowly swimming, scanning the seabed for seahorses, mating horseshoe crabs, strange little frogfish and colorful nudibranchs. Or embark on an adventure to one of the offshore sites, where octopus, barracudas, stingrays, jumping eagle rays and even sailfish are some of the things the offshore divesites can amaze you with. Together with your instructor, you will have a fun, safe and different course that will be something to remember.

Location Only a couple hours South from the Thailand border, and a short boat ride from the mainland you will find the Koh Sdach Archipelago, a cluster of islands and the charming fisherman island Koh Sdach in the middle.
Introduction to course
The PADI Advanced Open Water course will get you even more comfortable in the water by simply completing five adventure dives under the supervision of a PADI Instructor. If you're looking to build your confidence and gain more experience, this is the natural next step on the ladder.
The course is designed so you can go straight into it after the Open Water Diver course. The Advanced Open Water Diver course helps you increase your confidence and build your diving skills so you can become more comfortable in the water. This is a great way to get more dives under your belt while continuing to learn under the supervision of your PADI instructor. This course builds on what you've learned and develops new capabilities by introducing you to new activities and new ways to have fun diving.
You'll alter your skills by completing 5 adventure dives that introduce you to:

- Underwater navigation
- Deeper water diving (typically anywhere from 18-30 meters)
- A sample of 3 Adventure Dives of your choice

DIVE PACKAGE:

Itinerary
The PADI Advanced Open Water Course is performance based. That means you have to understand and pass the theory and perform the in-water skills correctly and with ease. Therefore, the itinerary can vary slightly from course to course. The course will take 2 to 3 days depending on the students enrolled. 5 dives will be spread out on the available days. No more than 3 training dives will be conducted each day. To give you an idea of what to expect, see the itinerary below:

Day 1
Arrive with one of the many small speed boats from the mainland and walk to our Dive center (it’s an easy walk - 2 or 3 minutes). Once you’ve settled in with your accommodation, you’ll return downstairs to the dive center, to fill in all the necessary paperwork and discuss the course schedule for the coming days.

Day 2:
Two or three dives are done today. It is also time to go through the knowledge reviews for the dives with your instructor.

Day 3: The remaining dives are done today. As an add on to the course, we can spend the day at one of our remote sites, Condor reef or Shark Island! (Condor reef or Shark Island is an optional upgrade to the course, and will be available locally for a smaller charge. The offshore reefs are weather dependable)

Day 4: Relax & check out. Or go fun diving!

Please allow a minimum of 24 hours, after your last dive, before flying.
(some countries will allow you to fly after 18 hours on land).

Accommodation

Your little Homestay: With the sound of the waves beneath the floors, and the small local boats chugging bye, you find a little heaven! Adventurous backpackers and stories gather around the long kitchen table for communal meals and late night chilling. This place is a home away from home, and a very personal experience! The coral reef is a jump away (you literally jump in from the porch of the homestay!). Here you can snorkel at day and swim with the bioluminescence at night. This unique homestay is environmentally by using wind and solar energy, collecting rainwater and recycling what can be recycled. Our favorite part (besides the super professional, fun and passionate owners from Norway) are the hammocks dangling on the porch (and the fact that they serve the best drinks on the island…). We have 2 types of accommodation available on this cool destination. Both of them have plenty of atmosphere: The Mezzanine: The dorm like mezzanine on the top of the dive center is a cozy place to sleep. The “rooms” are divided by curtains, clean, with soft single or double matresses and a natural breeze to keep you cool. The bathroom is shared, but it has a great view! The Private Treehouse: The suspended treehouse is sitting on the edge of the jungle with a great ocean view and a private bathroom (very cool, it is outside and open air). It is a simple, private and cozy little bungalow, with a soft double bed and a natural breeze to keep you cool.
