The PADI Advanced Open Water course will get you even more comfortable in the water by simply completing five adventure dives under the supervision of a PADI Instructor. If you're looking to build your confidence and gain more experience, this is the natural next step on the ladder.
The course is designed so you can go straight into it after the Open Water Diver course. The Advanced Open Water Diver course helps you increase your confidence and build your diving skills so you can become more comfortable in the water. This is a great way to get more dives under your belt while continuing to learn under the supervision of your PADI instructor. This course builds on what you've learned and develops new capabilities by introducing you to new activities and new ways to have fun diving.
You'll alter your skills by completing 5 adventure dives that introduce you to:
- Underwater navigation
- Deeper water diving (typically anywhere from 18-30 meters)
- A sample of 3 Adventure Dives of your choice
The PADI Advanced Open Water Course is performance based. That means you have to understand and pass the theory and perform the in-water skills correctly and with ease. Therefore, the itinerary can vary slightly from course to course. The course will take 2 to 3 days depending on the students enrolled. 5 dives will be spread out on the available days. No more than 3 training dives will be conducted each day. To give you an idea of what to expect, see the itinerary below:
Arrive with one of the many small speed boats from the mainland and walk to our Dive center (it’s an easy walk - 2 or 3 minutes). Once you’ve settled in with your accommodation, you’ll return downstairs to the dive center, to fill in all the necessary paperwork and discuss the course schedule for the coming days.
Day 2: Two or three dives are done today. It is also time to go through the knowledge reviews for the dives with your instructor.
Day 3: The remaining dives are done today. As an add on to the course, we can spend the day at one of our remote sites, Condor reef or Shark Island! (Condor reef or Shark Island is an optional upgrade to the course, and will be available locally for a smaller charge. The offshore reefs are weather dependable)Day 4: Relax & check out. Or go fun diving!
Please allow a minimum of 24 hours, after your last dive, before flying.
(some countries will allow you to fly after 18 hours on land).
