Nestled at the foot of Namibia’s Naukluft Mountains, Neuras is a desert oasis and one of the driest vineyards in the world. Ancient canyons and caves, fascinating geological formations and five natural fountains make Neuras a unique conservation site of 14,500 hectares. Furthermore, it is ideal for adventure enthusiasts!
The focus of the time in Neuras is on nature and taking in the beautiful scenery that the Hardap region has to offer. Specific activities listed below:

Hiking
We will be hiking on every day of the program (approximately 5k - 10km per day). Even non-hiking activities will incorporate some walking, so an intermediate level for fitness is required to make the most of the week.

Sossusvlei day trip
This includes visiting the 325 metre high Big Daddy sand dune, the Deadvlei & Sesriem Canyon. Finish with a lunch and swim at one of the local lodges.

Sleep outs
Depending on the time of year and the group, we may have the opportunity to sleep out in the bush.

Wine tasting
Taste our unique wines and get a glimpse into what goes into producing wine in the second driest vineyard in the world. Depending on the time of year, you may also get to be involved in harvesting or helping with bottling and labelling our wines.

Please be aware

Insurances & Flight Tickets

What to Bring
The Adventure Week involves lots of hiking, so comfortable walking shoes needed, as well as intermediate level of fitness. All sleeping equipment will be provided, but those with sleeping bags are advised to bring their own.

Internet Access
There is no WiFi at the project due to the poor reception so we suggest you purchase a Namibian SIM card and load data on it. You can purchase a SIM card at the airport upon arrival or once you get to the project.

ATMs
There is an ATM at the project, but it's not always functional due to signal problems. We therefore suggest that you get cash at the ATM at the airport upon arrival.

Winter in Namibia
May to September is the winter period and can be very cold at night and in the early mornings while the daytime temperatures can vary. Please make sure to pack enough warm clothes if you plan your trip in that period.
