Student life in Auckland

Auckland has repeatedly been voted several times as one of the top 10 cities to live in the world. The city is beautiful and especially if sailing is close to your heart then Auckland, also known as the City of Sails, just might be the perfect place for you.

Auckland has a bustling business district, inner city beaches, lush parks, a great waterfront and world-class entertainment centres which provide you the occasionally needed distraction from your studies. Auckland offers multicultural theatre and cuisine experiences, interesting history and a great harbour city atmosphere.

Student life in Auckland – Activities on a student budget

Auckland has plenty to offer students. Sure, it is not the ultimate party city, however, you will never be bored. In addition to the many events and happenings organized at the campus you will be entertained by outdoor movies in the parks, hustle and bustle in the markets, the excitement of food and wine festivals and open-air-concerts.

In Auckland there is also an array of annual events that will keep you busy, if you wish so: tennis tournaments, regatta, international comedy festival, national dragon boat festival, and many more.

Between all the organized action in the city, you can always hike a volcano! Trek up Mount Eden (for free!) to admire the amazing view overlooking the entire city of Auckland.

Other activity options include relaxed beach life – just hop on a bus downtown and you’ll able to immerse your toes into the sand in almost no time! A good starting point to the local beach life is Mission Bay and its numerous restaurants and bars.

Climate in Auckland

Auckland's climate is temperate, with warm summers (averaging more than 24 degrees) and cooler winters (averaging 16 degrees). The summer months are between December and March.
