Uber is also a great way to get around in San Francisco. San Francisco has some great areas that you should explore: Mission (young, hip and edgy), The Marina (colorful houses and hip cafés), Haight Street (old and hipster SF), Fillmore Street (for shopping). Marin County across the Golden Gate Bridge is a gorgeous area. Berkeley, 30 minutes by public transport from San Francisco, is also a very cosy town with a lot of young people and funny houses. A great area for a day off.
