Guatemala is a fantastic country not just for travel but also for yoga, as especially the area around Lake Atitlan has a longstanding tradition for attracting yoga practitioners. It as an excellent place for you to go if you want to become a yoga teacher.

You will live just on the edge of Lake Atitlan with a view of the surrounding volcanoes and lush green vegetation. Imagine you wake up every morning to this spectacular and almost paradise-like view before you start your day with a peaceful morning meditation – doesn’t sound too bad, right? This is the perfect place to open and relax your mind as you enhance your yoga practice and find your way as a yoga teacher.

The Yoga Teacher Training is a 21-day program divided into four cycles of 4 days with a day off in between each. Every morning starts out peacefully with a calm sunrise mediation with a stunning view of the lake, pranayama, and asana practice. This is followed by an organic breakfast to nourish your body before you go on to your daily teachings. You will learn yogic theory and healing practices though interactive workshops, classes, and dynamic group discussions. You will cover areas as yogic living, anatomy, mediation, cleansing practices, Ayurveda and much more. And you will of course cover several yogic traditions such as Hatha, Yin and Restorative. You will end the evenings in a community gathering which may include mediation, kirtan, chanting or sacred circle to connect and release the day’s challenges and triumphs.

In your free time you can go out and explore more of Guatemala. Being right at the center of it, it will be natural to explore the ancient Mayan history with a temple visit or maybe challenge yourself with a volcano hike. Or simply enjoy your time at the lake and go for a relaxing swim.

You can enhance or begin your yoga journey with us, as the program is available for both beginners and advanced. The most important thing is not your yoga skills – it is your desire to fully immerse yourself in the course and dare to go on a journey of personal development as you do.
