Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1: McLeod Ganj - Triund (2975m) Trek / 9 Km (L/D)
Today's trek goes through mixed forest of oak, rhododendron and deodar trees. The first two kilometers are a challenging and steep ascent, but after passing the Galu Devi Temple, the path levels out to a more gradual ascent. The last kilometer is again a steep ascent through the forest to reach Triund, which is a flat meadow on top of a ridge where you can see panoramic views of the Dhauladhar range on one side and Kangra Valley on other. Overnight camping in Triund.
Day 2: Triund - Laka Got (3300m) Trek / 5 Km (B/L/D)
This is an acclimatization day. After a short ascent from Triund, traverse a ridge to reach Laka Got, a temporary shepherd camp. Laka Got is situated at the edge of small glacier. This area is full of snow and ice in early summer, melting away during the monsoon. Camp overnight at Laka Got.
Day 3: Laka Got - McLeod Ganj Trek / 12 Km (B/L)
Depending on weather conditions, follow the same route on the way back or a take a detour from Triund going over a grassy meadow, and descend down to Bhagsu Nag and then to McLeod Ganj, where your adventure ends.
